FAQs

Q: What is all the hype with fascia?
A: Fascia, a complex network of connective tissue, has gained attention due to its pivotal role in body structure and movement. It influences flexibility, posture, and overall function, making it essential for pain free movement. The fascination with fascia stems from its potential to enhance mobility, prevent injuries, and reshape approaches to physical health.

Q: What type of patients benefit most from fascial manipulation?
A: Fascial manipulation has a growing range of applications including those that are in pain and experiencing difficulty moving. Continuous research is being performed internationally to investigate the fascia influence on our organs (including skin) and even our psychology.

Q: What happens during the first appointment?
A: The first appointment is 60-minutes and will be a comprehensive discussion of medical, activity/ athletic and injury history as well as a motion quality assessment. There will also be a hands-on manual assessment to evaluate fascial tissue around pain-points and areas of past injury/ trauma. Findings will dictate next steps and a treatment plan. You will be treated based upon these findings during our 1st meeting

Q: What happens during follow-up appointments?
A: Appointments will open up with a discussion of last treatment–and typically start with a reassessment of what was treated last. Based on this information, treatment will continue and further fascial restriction will be evaluated and addressed.

Q: What does it feel like? Will it hurt?
A: Fascial release delivers a distinct sensation of gentle yet targeted pressure that works to release tension and enhance mobility. This technique fosters a unique balance of comfort and therapeutic relief; certain points are more painful than others but there is continual patient/ provider dialogue to manage treatment.

Q: How will I feel after my session?
A: Every person will react differently to treatment though most feel some level of immediate relief/ release. The areas that were treated will be sore to the touch for a few days but rarely bruise. In the 24-hours after treatment, it’s suggested you “get sweaty” by moving fluidly (brisk walk, jog, yoga, etc) and hydrate. Your body will adapt and the full result will be evident over the course of 4-5 days

Q: What do I need to wear?
A: Comfortable and flexible attire that allows ease of movement for your session.

Q: How many sessions should I plan for?
A: Everyone and every condition has their own recovery time and is treated on a highly individualized basis. In cases where there is no obvious incident or injury to protect (i.e. no cast, splint, etc.), we recommend three visits to see if treatment is going to be helpful.

Q: Does Sollus take insurance?
A: Jeremy operates out of network with health insurance and is happy to, upon request, provide documentation for a patient to submit to their health plan should they have an OUT of network benefit. Lina operates in network with several of the major health plans (see policies).

Q: How much does an appointment cost?
A: An initial appointment requires 50-60 minutes and is $250.00. Follow ups can be done in 30 ($125) or 60 minute ($250) slots depending on patient preference. These rates may increase 5% at each year end on the basis of inflation. Credit cards are accepted with a 3.99% transaction fee. Cash, Checks, Electronic payments, Debit, HSA, HRA, FSA are NOT subject to any fees.

Q: Will I have to fill out paperwork?
A: Our streamlined online form covers your reason for visit, prior injuries, medical history, and treatment history, along with our policies. We will do a comprehensive review of your background during your first appointment but please thoroughly complete the form.
